Charity concert pianoforte

New paths, new bridges

Benefit concerts of the choir "pianoforte" on February 8 and 9 in the Abbey of Sayn - proceeds for the Caritas Foundation Koblenz

After the overwhelming success of the premiere concert with "pianoforte" last February, when the abbey church in Bendorf-Sayn was filled to capacity, the choir gave two powerful and touching benefit concerts on February 8 and 9, 2020.

Under the motto "New Ways, New Bridges", 60 singers, accompanied by their soloists and instrumentalists, provided special concert experiences. "Africa" by Toto, "Ein Hoch auf uns" by Andreas Bourani, "Thank you for the music" by Abba or "Only time" by Enya: The artists around choirmaster Torsten Schambortski quickly let the spark of enthusiasm jump over to the audience - with rocking pieces, gospels and songs that touch the soul. Impressive texts and personal thoughts got the concert visitors in the mood for the changing song passages.

The choir of the Kolping Family St. Mauritius Kärlich was accompanied by the soloists Jennifer Becker and Anna Theisen as well as the instrumentalists Lina Hambach (flute), Jörg Israel (clarinet, saxophone) and Joachim Schmitz (cajon).

Admission was free. The artists asked for donations for the Caritas Foundation Koblenz.

"We would like to thank the choir for their once again great social commitment," said Caritas Director Martina Best-Liesenfeld, looking forward with anticipation to the musical treat for a good cause. "Sticking together where we live: Our foundation funds are only used at the local level and specifically help people who urgently need support."

Following the concert, all guests were invited to enjoy hot mulled wine and salted pretzels.
An experience of the first order! We are already looking forward to next year.
