After a 2-year break due to the Corona pandemic, the Förderkreis Abtei Sayn e.V. once again held its traditional Advent feineer.
In the atmospherically decorated banquet hall of Sayn Castle, the 1st Chairman District Administrator Dr. Saftig welcomed almost 60 members at 3:30 p.m. on St. Nicholas Day with moving words about the crises of the times to then transition to St. Nicholas, to the preparation for the coming of Christ in this pre-Christmas time, which can offer confidence for all of us with the blessing of God. He welcomed for the first time in this round the new pastor of the parish community of Bendorf and thus also of the parish of Sayn, Father Frank Klupsch, who is thus also a "born member" of the board of the Förderkreis Abtei Sayn and wished him and all of us pleasant and trusting cooperation for the former Sayn Abbey and its surroundings.
In a short, atmospheric greeting, Father Klupsch spoke about his way into the parish community, his great interest in the voluntary work of the Förderkreis, but also that he would like to welcome all members in the church services to show the solidarity also beyond the design of the church and its surroundings.
Following a first musical introduction to Advent by the Sayner singer and guitarist Harald Becker, a delicious cake buffet was opened with fifteen homemade cakes baked by the women around Elsbeth Bleidt. An informal conversation among the members followed, which is of such great importance for the common life in the parish and in the Förderkreis with the consequences of the pandemic still having an effect.
Managing Director Jürgen Mosen then presented the annual planning 2023 of the Förderkreis, the ensemble Musici di Sayn and the parish, which will be brought together in a joint flyer in the coming weeks and then also published. He listed the summer concerts on the Stumm organ in the abbey church, the three concerts of Musici di Sayn in spring, in autumn and on New Year's Eve and for the first time on May 12 in the castle chapel.
A biblical wine tasting on July 1 in the cloister and the Harvard Crocodiloes weekend in Sayn from July 28 to 30 with the participation of the choir in a Mass celebration and a concert in the cloister, the parish festival on the last Sunday of August, the Open Monument Day on September 10 completed the schedule as well as the public tours from April to October, on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 3:00 p.m., as well as group tours and individual tours on request.
A special situation arises from a reshuffle of the so-called tour team. Some co-organizers have unfortunately left, so that a new line-up is necessary. First of all, a multi-day trip to Tuscany is planned, probably in May. With visits in Volterra, Florence, Siena and for Sayner "obligation" in Bolgheri and Montegemoli there will be certainly a full program, if the minimum number of 40 participants*innen and participants is reached. Day trip are still in the planning.
The afternoon ended with Harald Becker, who animated the visitors to sing along with the Christmas songs. The singing of Harald Becker and all present in the ballroom concluded a contemplative event in a beautiful ambience.

Förderkreis Abtei Sayn e.V. invites to Advent celebration
The executive committee of the Förderkreis der Abtei Sayn e.V. cordially invites its members to this year's Advent celebration. In addition to coffee and a cake buffet, you can expect a nice program with Advent music with Harald Becker. Greetings from the chairman, District Administrator Dr. Alexander Saftig, and announcements will give you up-to-date insights into the work of the Förderkreis.
